#lushloveslocal presents Art Meets Music

Breaking Barriers Of The Unknown

150cm(W) x 100cm(H)

Oil on Linen

Based on the song ‘Fly’ by Vandetta

A dramatic conflict of shapes was created through the tension of colours, which strengthens each other by their effect as well as by tension of containment and eruption, of fixation and flotation. The moving structures that are developed here offered the possibility of many-sided emotional variations and an intensification of painterly expression, similar to the use of sonatas in music. With this orientation, the work leads the observer to a different plane, unknown to the conventional logic system of common, practical reality.

This work is based on an abstract system of rhythmical physical movements used to educate my personal views of musical understanding of the song in a visual format. It is more like a visual map of a soundscape/song. The words/lyrics are reinterpreted as sounds instead of recognisable words that we understand as language.

This piece will be auctioned off for a good cause. Proceeds raised from the silent auction will go towards the support of the Autism Association of Singapore.
