The Many Glimpses of Drama
There is a peculiar and overwhelming drama that is stirred in the witness to a sunrise. I have chased the sunrise for years. They take me to the pinnacle of sensory wonder which I can scarcely comprehend. At once affixed with excitement and awe, yet also permeated with regret, not really knowing why.
Each sunrise leads me to a cliff. I am at the edge of being and can seemingly go no further, nor do I necessarily feel inclined to progress. The tangible world holds me back every day. Take a step.
I traverse on thin air to a wistful memory, reliving those moments.
The sounds of a serenading choir ascend from the waters below. They are singing about Shangri-La.
I dive inward and dream of leaving my bounds and dissolving the walls of my nature.
I shelter the loves of my life.
I find and fear the beauty and balance of life and death.
My eyes never leave the sky but the sky is no longer there.

Shortly after my exhibition with the mighty K+ at Scotts Square in 2016. I continued with my painting explorations, but this time round without the thought of another exhibition date in mind. I took my time to study my ideas and thoughts logged down in my sketch books and courageously tried them out. Reinventing my style of painting as I went along with this new found approach, I managed to work out quite a number of new paintings that made it for the show. Can’t wait for the launch!
